Why to join and implement ICAO’s emission reduction tasks as early as possible
Large Emitter
In 2018, the global aviation industry’s total carbon emissions were 995 million tons, accounting for 2.4% of global emissions. Aviation industry is one of the largest carbon emissions industries in the world. Therefore, the international aviation industry’s carbon emission reduction is imperative.
Total Control
Based on the outcome of the 2021 emission reduction, ICAO will adjust the objectives of the subsequent mandatory emission reduction phases to ensure that the overall goal is aligned with the original plan. Therefore, voluntary participation or mandatory participation is only a matter of time. The emission reduction tasks ultimately undertaken by aviation enterprises will remain unchanged.
Familiar With Rules
ICAO stipulates that aviation industry will use 2020 carbon emissions as benchmark, indicating that no matter which stage the airline enters, it is still necessary to prepare from 2020. Therefore it’s wise to join early so as to be familiar with the rules as soon as possible.
Lead the market
Establish a green image, ideally achieve carbon neutral of all routes and act as a pilot enterprise for global aviation industry.
